    Legislative Proposal Focuses on School Funding
    Does the state of Nebraska need to modernize the way it funds schools? That’s the question at the heart of a legislative proposal initiated by members of both the legislature’s Education and Revenue Committees. The measure (Legislative Resolution 201), calls for the legislature to create a School Finance Modernization Committee to tackle the question during the legislative interim, said Jay Rempe, Nebraska Farm Bureau vice-president of governmental relations, May 4.
