Greater Horizon Scholarship

  • At least one $1,000 scholarship awarded per year with the possibility of two being awarded.
  • This scholarship is available to students enrolled full-time in a college or university’s agricultural field of study and that plan on returning to farming or ranching.
  • Must belong to a member family of a county Farm Bureau in Nebraska or have own membership.
  • Must be a resident of Nebraska.

Kenneth E. Schwartz Memorial Farm Bureau Fund

  • This fund is administered through the University of Nebraska Foundation.
  • At least one $1,000 scholarship awarded per year with the possibility of more being awarded.
  • Must be a junior or senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in an agricultural or agricultural-related program including agribusiness.
  • Must belong to a member family of a county Farm Bureau in Nebraska or have own membership.
  • A student who receives the scholarship as a junior would be eligible to receive the scholarship a second year if a satisfactory grade level has been maintained and the applicant again receives committee selection.

Charles Marshall Educational Loan Fund

  • This program, funded by voluntary contributions from Farm Bureau members, offers higher education loans for worthy members enrolled for training in accredited institutions for the advancement of professional skills.
  • Loans can be approved up to and including 50 percent of the cost of training which includes tuition, room, board, books, transportation, etc. The amount approved depends upon the needs of the applicant and available loan monies.

Keith R. Olsen Agricultural Policy Internship Award

  • The Keith R. Olsen Agricultural Policy Internship award provides students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources the opportunity to complete an internship in Washington, D.C.
  • Students who participate in the Washington, D.C., program will work full-time on Capitol Hill for a member of Nebraska’s Congressional Delegation, a selected committee in the House of Representatives/Senate or at one of a number of agricultural organizations based in Washington, D.C. 
  • Applications for the internship award are generally due in January.

County Farm Bureau Mini-Grants for Education

The Mini-Grant Program funds projects that will increase agricultural literacy. County Farm Bureaus may apply for grants of up to $500 for classroom education programs for grades K-12 to initiate new programs or expand existing programs to additional grade levels or new subject areas. Grants are available on a competitive basis. Each county Farm Bureau may submit only one application for a county project. Click here to login and apply >>

Agricultural Education Student Teacher Scholarship Program

  • Must be enrolled in University of Nebraska-Lincoln Agricultural Education teacher education program.  Eligible to apply for scholarship for the value of approximately one-half tuition or $1,200 for the semester in which the student's student teaching experience occurs.  All candidates must apply, prior to applying for scholarship, for state and/or federal loan assistance programs.  The scholarship will be applied to student's account at UNL.
  • Must belong to a member family, have own membership or be a student member of Nebraska Farm Bureau.

Teacher Loan Assistance Program

  • For current Nebraska Agricultural Education teachers who have existing student loans and are teaching between 1-5 years.  Amount of loan assistance would increase over the course of the teacher's first five years in the classroom, thus encouraging the teacher to stay in the profession.  The teacher will also have to apply for applicable state and/or federal loan assistance programs.  The loan assistance will be applied to the teachers loan account.
  • Must belong to a member family, have own membership or be a student member of Nebraska Farm Bureau.
