Politics/International Relations
Election year politics can have undue influences on markets and economies. Add to this the President’s impending impeachment trial in the Senate and tensions in the Middle East and the political and international atmosphere will be especially charged in 2020.
Last week’s turmoil in the Middle East is a reminder on how international events can dramatically change markets in a flash. Ongoing tensions with Russia, Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan, China, and other autocratic nations will undoubtedly cause volatility in agriculture and financial markets this year.
