Statement by Mark McHargue, President, Regarding Governor’s State of the State Address (Property Taxes and Broadband)
LINCOLN, NEB. – “Property tax relief remains a high priority for Nebraskans and the members of Nebraska Farm Bureau. We greatly appreciate Governor Ricketts’ continued efforts to address this important issue. We look forward to working with him and the members of the Legislature to address our state’s overreliance on property taxes this session. We further appreciate the governor making broadband expansion a priority for Nebraska. High quality and high-speed internet service is vital to rural Nebraska and other underserved areas of our state. Whether its telehealth, education, access for main street businesses, or precision agriculture, expanding and improving broadband is vital for growth and Nebraska’s future.”
The Nebraska Farm Bureau is a grassroots, state-wide organization dedicated to supporting farm and ranch families and working for the benefit of all Nebraskans through a wide variety of educational, service, and advocacy efforts.
