Adding Value to Livestock Through Certification Programs
Consumers are desiring more information about how their food is produced. Having livestock participate in an approved certification program is one way to capture additional value at the time of sale. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Agriculture Economics hosted a webinar this week for producers to review historical financial performance of commonly used livestock programs and share information about current and future programs producers can potentially participate in to continue to add value back to their operations.
