Farm Bureau Responds to Biden Climate Orders
Farm Bureau responded this week to the latest climate change executive order issued by the Biden administration. The order pauses new oil and gas leasing on public land or offshore waters, while also committing to conservation on at least 30 percent of lands and oceans by 2030. In addition, the order calls on the Secretary of Agriculture to collect input from farmers and ranchers on how to use federal programs to encourage adoption of “climate-smart” agriculture practices to produce verifiable carbon reductions and sequestrations.
