NEFB Supports Bill to Streamline Livestock Zoning Permit Process

A policy priority for NEFB this legislative session is supporting the responsible expansion of Nebraska’s value-added industries. Over the past few years, we have seen permit applications denied, even though they met all local zoning requirements. In this video, hear from Greg Hoegermeyer, a Washington County Farm Bureau member, who testified in support of a proposal that would streamline the permitting process for livestock facilities. 

Legislative Conference and BBQ & Brews Returns with Success 

Farmers and ranchers gathered in Lincoln this week for the Nebraska Farm Bureau Legislative Conference. The event presented a unique opportunity for members of the agricultural community to come together and explore current policy issues impacting agriculture, advocate for shared interests, and engage directly with policymakers on critical issues affecting Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers. 

Nebraksa Farm Bureau Foundation Helps First Lady Share Bushels of Stories 

As another growing season is on the horizon, First Lady Suzanne Pillen wants to ensure children in Nebraska know where their food, fiber, and fuel come from. During her time as Nebraska’s First Lady, it is one of Suzanne Pillen’s missions to share accurate agriculture books with students in Nebraska. Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom helped to create Bushels of Stories to connect students with agriculture through story.

Nebraska Farm Bureau Endorses Nebraska’s Federal Delegation  

U.S. Nebraska senators Deb Fischer and Pete Ricketts along with Congressmen Adrian Smith, Don Bacon, and Mike Flood all earned the endorsement of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Policitcal Action Committee (NEFB-PAC) Saturday, Feb. 17. All five candidates are seeking reelection.
