Record Numbers in 2022 for U.S. Ag Trade
2022 turned out to be another record year for U.S. agricultural trade, with both export and import values reaching new peaks. Just over $196 billion of agricultural goods were sold overseas, beating 2021 by 11 percent. It was the second consecutive year of double-digit growth. However, imports grew more rapidly, climbing 16 percent and reaching $198 billion. Nebraska Farm Bureau Economist Austin Harthoorn breaks down the numbers and what they mean for farmers and ranchers.
