A Good Week for Property Tax Relief!
State lawmakers gave final approval to a series of budget bills this week. The bills included provisions putting additional dollars in the state’s cash reserve triggering more property tax relief in 2021. Lawmakers also gave first round approval to LB 2. The bill lowers the value of agricultural land for purposes of calculating school bond taxes helping bring farmers and ranchers financial obligations for bonds more in line with their voting representation in local elections. Both measures are Nebraska Farm Bureau priorities for the 2021 legislative session.
