Tracking Drought
The U.S. Drought Monitor map released April 29 continues to show that much of Southwest Nebraska is dealing with severe drought conditions, while much of the Panhandle remains in the moderate drought category. According to the map, abnormally dry conditions blanket most of Central and West Central Nebraska and the extreme Northeast part of the state. Little has changed in conditions over the last 30 days as the March 30 Drought Monitor is a virtual carbon copy of the most recent map.
