Dixon County Farm Bureau Announces Student Project Grants
ALLEN, NEB. – The Dixon County Farm Bureau awarded both Allen and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge FFA, $1,500 each for their participation in the Connecting Chapters program this year.
“Connecting Chapters is a program through the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation that equips high school FFA members to connect with elementary students and peers to increase agricultural literacy – awareness, knowledge, and appreciation – in their communities. Dixon County Farm Bureau has a long history of supporting agriculture and local youth. We feel like we are investing in the future of agriculture and Dixon County,” Jerry Stewart, Dixon County Farm Bureau president said May 2.
The FFA chapters will partner with Dixon County Farm Bureau members by helping with the mutton bustin contest at the Ponca Rodeo. They will also participate in an agricultural literacy outreach activity during Ag Days this summer.
