Senator Briese Nails It

Sen. Tom Briese of Albion hit the nail on the head in a recent Associated Press article where he pointed out that renewal of state business incentives and property tax reform must be a package deal. Bills on both measures failed to advance in the waning days of the 2019 legislative session.

“Business incentives and property tax reform have to advance together, or neither should advance,” said Briese. “The best way to ensure that is to have them both in one bill.” Sen. Lou Ann Linehan of Elkhorn who chairs the Legislature’s Revenue Committee says she’s confident lawmakers can reach an agreement on both this summer.
