Legislative Fix Saves Farmers Tens of Thousands of Dollars, Protects Future of Agriculture 

Sarpy County farmers gathered with Nebraska Farm Bureau and state dignitaries to celebrate the passage of LB 580, a legislative fix to a property tax issue created when Gretna annexed roughly 3,000 acres of land. A group of Sarpy County farmers brought the issue to Farm Bureau less than a year ago. Through its grassroots power, Nebraska Farm Bureau was able to help solve an issue that would have cost several farmers their livelihood.
