Statement by Mark McHargue, President, Regarding Blueprint Nebraska’s Tax Modernization Plan
LINCOLN, NEB. – “We appreciate everyone who brings ideas to the table to solve the monumental task of reforming our state’s tax structure. As I travel the state and visit with Nebraskans, it is clear property tax relief is still the highest priority for residential, commercial, and agricultural property owners.”
“We are committed to continuing our work with stakeholders and our elected leaders to find ways to ensure we are headed towards balance in our sales, income, and property tax burdens, which requires significant reductions in Nebraska property taxes. While there is much work to be done to address the property tax issue, we appreciate and are proud to work with the Legislature and governor to provide meaningful tax relief.”
