Report Examines COVID-19 Impact on Nebraska Agriculture

The Nebraska Farm Bureau and the Platte Institute have released a joint report taking a closer look at the impact of COVID-19 on Nebraska Agriculture. The report details the “one-two” punch agriculture experienced starting in March with the initiation of stay at home orders that negatively impacted corn markets and ethanol demand, along with commodity price drops resulting from shutdowns and disruptions in the food service industry. The report also details the second blow in April when shutdowns and disruptions in the meat processing sector left livestock producers with significantly diminished market access.
