The Collegiate Discussion Meet competition is your chance to discuss current ag issues and work with other students to implement creative solutions to one of five questions.
Two students from each CFB Chapter are invited to attend the CFB Discussion Meet Finals at the NEFB Annual Meeting in December. The winner from the state finals will represent Nebraska at the AFBF Collegiate Discussion Meet in March.
This fellowship will provide a purposeful experience at the NEFB Annual Meeting for student members interested in Farm Bureau, the policy development process and growing their network of Farm Bureau leaders. All expenses to attend Annual Meeting will be paid. Applications close on October 15 and applicants will be notified of their status by November 1.
Two (2) Collegiate Farm Bureau members have the opportunity to represent members of the Nebraska Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters across the state as a voting delegate at the Nebraska Farm Bureau annual meeting. Delegates will be compensated for lodging and travel to and from the Annual Meeting. To be considered for the delegate position please apply below.
Students involved in CFB are encouraged to participate in the Collegiate Discussion Meet competition. This event is designed to simulate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant.
Successful participants are productive thinkers and able to articulate their points. They love being up to date on current industry issues and can assist the group in creating ways to implement the solution, while highlighting Farm Bureau’s role.
State winners represent Nebraska at the National Collegiate Discussion Meet held in conjunction with the National Young Farmers & Ranchers Conference.
Nebraska Farm Bureau will award two (2) $500 scholarships per year to members of Nebraska Collegiate Farm Bureau. Applications are due April 1.
