Young Ag Leaders Awards
Recognizing the next generation of leaders in agriculture.
- The Nebraska Farm Bureau Young Ag Leaders Awards celebrate young farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals who are making an impact in their operations, communities, and the future of agriculture. Through this program, individuals are recognized for their leadership, involvement, and commitment to advancing agriculture across Nebraska.
- The Young Ag Leaders Awards recognize young agricultural leaders across Nebraska at every level. Nominations are open June through July, followed by the selection of Emerging Leaders in August and regional finalists in September. One individual is ultimately named Nebraska Young Ag Leader of the Year and recognized at the Annual Meeting in December.
- This program is open to farmers, ranchers, agribusiness professionals, and anyone passionate about agriculture and leadership. Participants gain recognition for their work, build connections across the state, share their story, andaccess opportunities to represent Nebraska at the national level.

Nominations are open each summer and take just a few minutes to complete. Whether you’re nominating yourself or someone else, this is your chance to recognize the leaders moving Nebraska agriculture forward.
Nominate a LeaderDiscussion Meet
Developing strong voices for the future of agriculture.
- The Nebraska Farm Bureau Discussion Meet challenges young farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals to engage in thoughtful conversations about current issues facing agriculture. Participants take part in a moderated discussion, asking questions, sharing ideas, and working together to identify solutions while strengthening their communication and leadership skills.
- The Discussion Meet begins with preliminary rounds at the YF&R Conference, with a final four advancing to compete at the Nebraska Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. One individual is selected to represent Nebraska at the American Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet.
- Open to those interested in current agricultural issues and Farm Bureau policy, the program provides an opportunity to grow as a leader, build confidence, and connect with others who are passionate about the future of agriculture.
Compete in the Discussion Meet
Registration for the Discussion Meet happens during the state YF&R Conference each year. Whether you’re new to the contest or returning to compete again, this is your opportunity to share your perspective and be part of the conversation shaping agriculture.
