Daily Livestock Report said U.S. beef imports for January were 655 million pounds, 47 million pounds (7.7%) higher than a year ago. Exports equaled 195million pounds, down 15.1% from last year . . . According to Derrell Peel, livestock economist with Oklahoma State University, the 2025 Saturday slaughter rate of 1.2% for beef packing facilities is the lowest in the past thirty years . . . Data from Circana, a market research company, shows meat sales in the U.S. reached a record $112 billion last year. More than 98%of U.S. households purchased meat in 2025 . . . A tweet from the Kobeissi Letter said U.S. oil reserves are set to decline 41%, the lowest level since the 1980s, after the latest releases to check rising oil prices. After the release, reserves will be at 34% of total capacity . . . A 2024survey by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service showed 79% of farmland acres rented in the U.S. are owned by non-farming landlords. Nearly 350 million acres of agricultural land were rented in 2024 in the U.S.
