The National Corn Growers Association reported last year’s exports to Mexico and Canada — including bulk corn, ethanol-equivalent corn, and meat-equivalent corn — equaled 1.8 billion bushels . . . Michael Schumpp of the Meat Institute testified to the House Agriculture Committee that trade with Canada and Mexico returns $91 per head for cattle producers and $28 for pork producers . . . Winter wheat production in Nebraska is projected to be 16.2 million bushels this year, down from 37.8 million bushels last year, or a 57% decline. Harvested acres are expected to drop from 805,000 to 580,000 . . . Karen Braun of Zaner Ag Hedge said U.S. corn exports are projected to reach a record 3.32 billion bushels for market year 2025/26 with no corn shipped to China. Five years ago, China accounted for one-third of U.S. corn exports.
