Data from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services shows the number of Nebraskans receiving public food aid declined nearly 17% from a year ago, or by about 25,000 people . . . Kevin Van Trump noted that the value of U.S. farm real estate is estimated at $3.77 trillion, roughly 83% of total farm-sector assets . . . A proposed ballot initiative in Oregon which could have criminalized hunting, fishing and livestock production will not be on the state’s general election ballot this November. Sponsors failed to secure the necessary number of signatures to qualify for the ballot . . . ADM announced it will invest in improvements in its soybean crush facilities including the Lincoln facility. The company wants to expand its oilseed crush capacity and strengthen its ability to meet the growing demand for renewable fuels and other vegetable oil markets . . . A proposed bio-polypropylene production facility near Falls City aims to create a new market for corn by transforming ethanol into a plastic commonly found in automotive parts, food packaging, and construction materials. The company hopes to break ground on the improvements to the Lincoln facility in late 2027.
