Omaha Steaks President and CEO Nate Rempe told Fox News that he thinks ground beef prices will reach $10 per pound by the third quarter of 2026 . . . According to the WASDE report, beef production in 2025 is projected to be 25.7 billion pounds, down 1.2 billion pounds from 2024 (-4.5%) and production in 2026 is projected to decline by 366 million pounds, or -1.4%, to 25.3 billion pounds . . . Nearly all Nebraska bankers responding to the latest Ag Credit Survey conducted by the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank indicated farm income is lower this year compared to last year . . . The latest “Beef-on-Dairy Industry Report” from Purina Animal Nutrition said that beef-on-dairy now account for 12-15% of fed cattle slaughter . . . The 40th annual American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Thanksgiving dinner survey found a dinner for 10 people will cost $55.18 this year, down 5% from last year . . . Wholesale costs for turkeys have increased 81% from 2024. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest weekly national turkey market report, wholesale prices for whole turkeys were $1.77 per pound the week of Nov. 9 compared with 98 cents per pound at the same time last year.
