China has imposed an above quota “safeguard” tariff of 55% on imports of U.S. beef along with a handful of other countries’ beef imports . . . The Renewable Fuels Association said data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration showed ethanol accounted for 11.06% of the nation's gasoline in October, marking the first time the monthly ethanol blend rate exceeded 11% . . . Magnetic Ag reported cattle outnumber people in nine states: Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Kansas, Montana, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Iowa . . . The USDA estimates Brazilian beef production in 2025 was 12.35 million tons. Reuters’ said it will be the first time Brazil’s beef output exceeds U.S. production (11.8 million tons) . . . American Ag Network tweeted that ADM Milling Co. will end flour milling at its Lincoln facility but keep the packaging and extruded production operations running . . . Nebraska reported 2.62 million head of cattle on feed as of Jan. 1 on the latest USDA Cattle of Feed report, up 2% from the prior year. Nebraska continues to hold the top spot ahead of Texas and Kansas.
