AgWorks Corridor

A new initiative led by Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development and Select Greater Omaha seeks to take advantage of Nebraska’s existing agricultural ecosystem to attract business development and spur economic growth. The AgWorks Corridor encompasses 11 counties across Nebraska and Iowa. The region already serves as hubs for processing, agricultural inputs, equipment manufacturing, and innovation and is a leader in value-added agriculture. The initiative seeks to build on existing regional strengths to advance opportunities in the corridor.

The AgWorks corridor contains more than 700 companies employing in excess of 37,000 workers and a network of more than 50,000 workers across the broader ecosystem. The initiative aims to tap into this ecosystem to drive collaboration, accelerate growth, and strengthen long-term comepetitiveness. It will focus in animal health, agricultural technology, food manufacturing, agricultural equipment, and biotechnology. Heath Mello, President and CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, described the initiative: “This opportunity is about giving companies a clearer view of what this super region can offer and creating a stronger platform to compete for investment in value-added agriculture.”
