Farm Bureau Applauds House Passage of Farm Bill
After several months of work and negotiation, the House of Representatives passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, also known as the Farm Bill, with a bipartisan vote. More than 150 NEFB member stook action by sending an email to the Nebraska delegation, urging them to support the farm bill. Nebraska Farm Bureau thanks you for your engagement. NEFB President Mark McHargue commented on the vote to pass the Farm Bill.
New Nebraska Law Gives Ranchers the Right-of-Way
Every Nebraska rancher who has moved a herd of cattle across a public highway understands the momentary confusion that can occur when a vehicle crests the hill. Until now, Nebraska law provided no clarity on the rules of the road regarding livestock. However, that lack of clarity ended on April 14 with the governor's signature on LB977. Sen. Impacted by the Spring Wildfires? Apply for Disaster Relief
The Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Relief Fund is now accepting applications to assist farm and ranch families impacted by the devastating spring wildfires. Applications will be available online and will be reviewed monthly. A committee will review applications at the beginning of the month and distributions will be made until 100% of donations are exhausted.
