USDA Under Secretary Fordyce Visits Nebraska
USDA Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation Richard Fordyce was in Nebraska this week for a series of meetings, hearing directly from farmers and ranchers within the state. During an ag organization roundtable, Under Secretary Fordyce provided an update on USDA's ongoing efforts to help farmers and ranchers recover from the recent wildfires. Flexibility and program improvements continue to be a major focus for USDA as each natural disaster presents unique challenges. Nebraska Farm Bureau First Vice President Katie Olson represented NEFB at the roundtable with the Under Secretary. Find more information on USDA disaster programs here.

Nominations Open for 2027 Farm Bureau Farm Dog of the Year Contest
Farmers are invited to submit nominations for the 2027 Farm Bureau Farm Dog of the Year contest, which comes with cash prizes and bragging rights. This is the ninth year of the contest, supported by Nestlé Purina PetCare, which celebrates farm dogs and the many ways they support farmers and ranchers.
NEFB Continues to Accept Applications for Wildfire Disaster Relief
The Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Relief Fund is accepting applications to assist farm and ranch families impacted by the devastating spring wildfires. Applications will be available online and will be reviewed monthly. A committee will review applications at the beginning of the month, and distributions will be made until 100% of donations are exhausted.
