Nebraska Farm Bureau PAC Announces Endorsements in Secretary of State, State Board of Education, and University Board of Regent RacesNebraska Farm Bureau Logo

Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB), the state’slargest general agriculture organization, has announced its endorsements offour candidates seeking election to offices responsible for administeringNebraska elections and overseeing the state’s public education systems. 

“These offices provide important services to Nebraska families,businesses, schools and communities,” said Katie Olson of Atkinson, chair ofNEFB-PAC and first vice president of Nebraska Farm Bureau. “The secretary ofstate oversees responsibilities that affect businesses and agriculturaloperations across Nebraska, while members of the State Board of Education andUniversity of Nebraska Board of Regents help shape educational opportunitiesthroughout our state.”

In addition to administering state elections, the Nebraskasecretary of state oversees business registrations and filings, UniformCommercial Code filings, notary commissions, professional and occupationallicensing, state records management, administrative rules and regulations, andinternational relations. These responsibilities make the office an importantpoint of contact for Nebraska businesses, including farms, ranches and otheragricultural enterprises. 

Members of the State Board of Education help establish policiesand priorities for Nebraska’s public schools, while members of the Universityof Nebraska Board of Regents provide governance and oversight for theUniversity of Nebraska system.

“We believe Scott Petersen, Angie Eberspacher, Lou Ann Godingand Jeremy Hosein are well prepared to serve Nebraskans in these importantpositions,” Olson said. “We encourage Nebraska Farm Bureau members and votersacross the state to learn more about these candidates and support them in theNovember general election.”

NEFB-PAC endorsements are based on candidates’ qualifications,positions on issues important to agriculture and rural Nebraska, andrecommendations received from Nebraska Farm Bureau members and County FarmBureaus.

“We look forward to supporting this slate of candidatesthroughout their election efforts,” Olson said. “We are confident they have theability to provide strong leadership and help guide Nebraska toward aprosperous future.”
