It was a high stakes Texas Hold'em poker game at the NEFB-PAC Casino Night Fundraiser at the Nebraska Farm Bureau Convention. All money raised will go to help elect agriculture friendly candidates.

Farmers and ranchers came to Kearney from all across Nebraska to talk about their priority issues. Scotts Bluff County Farm Bureau delegate Molly Folot came from her operation near Lyman.

They brought energy, insight, and a genuine commitment to strengthening agricultural literacy across Nebraska. Thank you for your service.

Growing the Future: Cultivating Young Leaders in Farm Bureau was a popular workshop at the NEFB Annual Meeting and Convention.  Audrey Schipporeit (left)and Young Farmer and Rancher members Amy Musgrave, Clay County; Josh England, Hall County; and Kaleb Senff, Lancaster County were part of the panel discussion. The group share real stories about how they’ve plugged into their county Farm Bureau and what’s working to draw in other young members like them.
More than 150 farmers and ranchers sat on the delegate floor during the Nebraska Farm Bureau Annual meeting to discuss key issues affecting Nebraska agriculture and preparing for upcoming votes.

4-month of Dixie Grace Hasart (left) was one of the youngest Farm Bureau members at convention and she got a picture with Governor Jim Pillen and State Agriculture Director Sherry Vinton. Dixie’s parents were nearby Daniel and Tori Hasart of Cherry County.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Eugene Kowel (left) presented the FBI’s Community Leadership Award to Katie Olson NEFB first vice president. The award recognizes dedicated individuals and organizations from across the country for their extraordinary contributions to strengthening communities and reducing crime and violence. Nebraska Farm Bureau was recognized for their work with fighting cyber crime on farmers and ranches in Nebraska.
Dr. Chris Calkins received the Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Silver Eagle Award from Katie Olson NEFB first vice president Dec. 9. Best known as the co-discoverer of the flat iron steak, now one of America’s most popular cuts, Calkins built a distinguished career as a professor of meat science, shaping both the beef industry and generations of students.
