More experienced Tidbits’ readers probably remember The Brady Bunch show and its Hawaiian vacation special. Younger readers perhaps remember the Modern Family trip to Hawaii. Tidbits had its own Hawaiian vacation special recently, spending a week on the island of Kauai. What made the trip stand out was the connections to Nebraska agriculture seen on the isle — Greater Omaha prime rib featured on the menu at DUKE’S restaurant; Lindsay Corporation’s Zimmatic center pivot systems operating in fields; and Corteva Agriscience seed research facilities — all spotted on the island roughly 3,900 miles distant from Nebraska. The influence of Nebraska agriculture extends far and wide.
