Without action, this trend will continue to strain families, farmers, ranchers, and local communities across the state. That’s the message NEFB is sharing state senators this legislative session as we advocate for property tax reform.
Legislative Update: Hearings Complete, Priority Bills Announced
This week marked the official conclusion of committee hearings at the Capitol. Over the past several weeks, hundreds of newly introduced bills have been heard, debated, and refined as they worked their way through the committee process. All the priority designations by senators, committees, and the speaker are now official.

The House Agriculture Committee’s release of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567) represents an important step toward restoring long-term certainty by updating these and many other programs. As the Committee prepares to markup H.R. 7567, the need for action is urgent. Send a message to Rep. Don Bacon, urging him to Support H.R. 7567 in Full Committee Markup.
