Protest Property Valuation by June 30!
Nebraska Farm Bureau has developed a checklist to help Farm Bureau members looking to protest their property valuation. If you think the assessed value for your house, farmstead,or real estate is too high, you can file a protest with the county clerk’s office.This can be done in-person or by mail and must be submitted in triplicate,signed, dated, and postmarked by June 30. Report Wildfire Damage by June 15 for Potential Property Tax Relief
Property owners whose homes, buildings, land,or other improvements were significantly damaged by wildfires may be eligible for property tax relief. Under Nebraska law, property that suffers significant property damage between January 1 and July 1 of the current assessment year may qualify for review and possible adjustment of its assessed value. Property owners affected by wildfires are encouraged to file Form 425, Report of Damaged Real Property, with the county clerk on or before July 15.

USDA Announces Base Acre Increase Opportunity for Agriculture Risk and Price Loss Coverage Safety Net Programs
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s(USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced eligible land owners have from June 1 until Aug. 31, 2026 to review and consider base acre increases on farms enrolled in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs, as authorized by provisions included in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
