Leadership Academy

Leadership Academy equips the future leaders of Farm Bureau withthe tools they need to successfully advocate for agriculture, connectwith members, and embody the grassroots mission. Participants will learn the latest information about critical issues and develop their skills for leading change.

2026 Schedule

Discussion Meet competitive event simulates a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. This competition is evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic. Participants build basic discussion skills, develop a keen understanding of important agricultural issues, and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems.

Who Should Apply

10 Farm Bureau members involved in production agriculture or agribusiness with the potential for providing exceptional leadership in their county, community, and state.

NEFB supports the majority of the Leadership Academy expenses, including hotel stays and meals for all in-state sessions and airfare, hotels, meals, and fees associated with the Washington, D.C., trip. You or your County Farm Bureau will make an additional $200 investment.

Participants are expected to be dedicated to personal development by actively engaging in all Leadership Academy sessions.

Participants must be a Nebraska resident and hold a current Nebraska Farm Bureau membership.
